Quality of life for administrative staff of General Services, National Energy Commission, 2023

This study aimed to assess the perceived quality of life among administrative staff of the General Services Division at the National Energy Commission (CNE) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, between January and March 2023. Using a quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional design, the EuroQol-5D-3L instrument was applied to evaluate physical, emotional, and functional well-being. The findings indicate a predominantly positive perception of health, with acceptable levels of mobility, autonomy, and daily performance. Nonetheless, chronic conditions such as hypertension, obesity, and emotional symptoms—including anxiety and depression—were identified, suggesting challenges within the occupational environment. Gaps in access to specialized care and preventive services were also noted, highlighting the need for greater institutional support. These conditions may impact productivity, workplace satisfaction, and overall organizational climate. Based on the results, it is recommended that the institution adopt strategies aimed at promoting occupational health, enhancing psychosocial wellness programs, and improving early detection mechanisms. This study provides valuable insights for designing sustainable policies that foster better quality of life among public sector employees and strengthen institutional performance through human well-being.
