Abstract

This text is a theoretical review article that analyzes the discourses, policies, and practices surrounding the integration of ancestral knowledge into Ecuadorian higher education. Based on a selection of recent studies on interculturality, the dialogue of knowledge, and educational experiences in various university contexts, the main tensions between constitutional recognition (since 2008) of cultural diversity and institutional mechanisms that, despite advances, reproduce forms of epistemic exclusion are identified. The review emphasizes the need to reconfigure higher education spaces as settings for critical, inclusive, and transformative interculturality.
