Abstract
The relevance of the study was due to the increase in the number of workplace accidents under the conditions of technological transformations and new forms of work organisation. The study was dedicated to exploring ways to minimise the risks of occupational accidents. The research methodology was based on a systemic approach, which also included the analysis of scientific sources from the period 2021-2022, a survey of 60 respondents from various industrial sectors regarding the effectiveness of occupational health and safety management systems, and the examination of practical experience in implementing such systems at ten enterprises. In addition, the specifics of certain production processes were taken into account. It was found that the most effective were integrated approaches that combined technological solutions, organisational measures, and the development of a safety culture. A clear inverse correlation between the safety culture index and the frequency of accidents was established (r = -0.94). Among technological solutions, the highest effectiveness ratings were received by video analytics and computer vision systems (4.7 out of 5) and wearable worker condition monitoring devices (4.5 points). A significant economic effect of investing in preventive occupational safety measures was revealed – each dollar invested saved USD 4.2 in costs associated with accidents. The research results made it possible to develop practical recommendations for implementing integrated systems for risk minimisation in the workplace, taking into account the interrelation between technological, organisational, and human safety factors. The study concluded that enterprises with a high safety culture index demonstrated significantly lower rates of occupational injuries and higher labour productivity, which indicated a direct link between investment in safety and the overall efficiency of production processes
