Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of theoretical and methodological approaches in determining the innovative potential of enterprises. The modern relevance of assessing the level of innovative enterprises is substantiated. The article examines the essence and provides a clear terminological definition of the concept of "innovation potential". The theoretical basis of the study is the scientific works of foreign and domestic economists regarding the problems of determining the level of innovation potential. The diversity of views of scientists is due to the significant number of types of innovative activity, the size of the scale, the resource intensity and effectiveness of the implementation of innovative solutions and projects, as well as the difference in the field in which innovations are implemented and the specialization of innovatively active enterprises. The work systematizes and summarizes the experience and analyzes the existing methods and approaches to the assessment of innovation potential. Their key characteristics are identified, the most widespread of them are highlighted, and examples of the calculation mechanism for a detailed assessment of the innovative potential of the enterprise are provided. In addition, a number of their advantages and disadvantages in modern methods and approaches are highlighted. The task of choosing the optimal method or approach for evaluating the innovative potential of an enterprise is difficult, considering the specifics of the enterprise's activity, its scale, the chosen industry, the size of enterprises, etc. Based on these synthesis results, an improved method of evaluating the innovative potential of the enterprise based on a comprehensive approach is proposed. It is proposed to evaluate the innovative potential of the enterprise based on the definition of its components in a certain sequence: innovative competences, innovative abilities, innovative resources and innovative projects
