Abstract

Es de sobra conocido el singular auge de los estudios de Historia Económica en España durante las dos últimas décadas. Los antecedentes de esta expansión se encuentran en los trabajos de autores tales como Hamilton, Vicens Vives y Vilar, por mencionar sólo aquellos más influyentes, aunque sea preciso recordar otros que por su modernidad metodológica debieron recibir más atención de la que fueron objeto, como es el caso de los estudios de Sarda. La obra de estos historiadores y economistas fue un acontecimiento hasta cierto punto aislado en el panorama de la disciplina en España.
