Evaluation of Seasonal Variations of Physico-chemical and Bacteriological Quality of Groundwater from a Chemical Industry in Port Harcourt Area, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria

Abstract

Groundwater samples were collected from a chemical industry in Port Harcourt Area of Rivers State, Nigeria in two sampling seasons (Wet and Dry seasons) and were evaluated for Physico-chemical and Bacteriological Quality. Physico-chemical and Bacteriological results of the dry season groundwater samples showed slightly higher concentrations when compared to the wet season ground water samples except for acidity which had higher value of 43.67 ± 1.20 obtained for the wet season samples.
