Las ventas en corto: información o manipulación

Abstract

Este trabajo realiza una panorámica sobre los principales resultados de las restricciones a la venta en corto. Las restricciones han provocado distintos efectos dado que han tenido diseños diferentes desde la uptick rule que limitaba la venta en corto a cualquier precio por debajo de la última operación, impidiendo así que los vendedores en corto se beneficiaran de estrategias depredadoras. Esta normativa se mantuvo prácticamente hasta su supresión en 2007. Hasta la regla 201 para EEUU y el artículo 23 de la normativa de la ESMA.
