Entrepreneurship in trade of the region: Essence and significance in the modern conditions

The article provides theoretical studies of the development of entrepreneurship in the field of trade in the region. The content of the concepts of “entrepreneurship”, “trade”, “commercial entrepreneurship” is considered. It is determined that the main defining characteristics of this category are independent initiative economic activity; the process of buying and selling goods; meeting the needs of the population; obtaining a net financial result (profit). It is proposed to consider entrepreneurship in the field of trade in the region as a special type of independent initiative economic activity in the region, which is aimed at implementing the process of buying and selling goods (works, services) to meet the needs of the population (for the buyer) and obtaining maximum profit (for the seller). It is investigated that the main functions of entrepreneurship in the field of trade in the region are research of regional market conditions; development of a policy for working with the main suppliers of goods; establishment of trade relations both within the enterprise and with the main counterparties; formation of the commodity policy of the trading enterprise; organization of retail and wholesale trade in goods; organization of commodity supply. The principles of carrying out business activities in the field of trade are given. They are initiative and independence; openness; quality; efficiency; competitiveness
