Abstract
Introduction: Nature-based tourism has emerged as a key driver of development in regions of high environmental richness, particularly in Amazonian areas undergoing post-conflict transformation. In the department of Caquetá, the peace process has strengthened the confidence of tourists and investors, fostering ecotourism initiatives focused on the sustainable use of natural, cultural, and heritage resources. Methodology: This descriptive research, with a qualitative approach, used field diaries and documentary analysis to identify, classify, and characterize the main ecotourism routes in the municipality of El Doncello, Caquetá. Results: Sustainable ecotourism routes were identified according to their natural, cultural, heritage, and agro-industrial attractions, revealing the territory’s potential for economic diversification and environmental conservation. These routes act as strategic spaces for strengthening local identity, promoting the green economy, and contributing to peacebuilding. Conclusions: Ecotourism in the Colombian Amazon emerges as a connecting axis between sustainability, culture, and reconciliation, where territorial management and community strategies integrate environmental preservation with social well-being and sustainable development.
