Abstract

ntroduction: This study analyzes dynamic capabilities as competitiveness strategies for organizational development in commercial businesses in San Vicente, Ecuador. These capabilities, understood as intangible management resources, enable organizations to adapt proactively or reactively to environmental changes, achieving sustainable competitive advantages and strengthening organizational development. Methodology: The research adopted a mixed approach with an exploratory, descriptive, and field design, complemented by empirical and analytical methods. The study population consisted of 44 commercial establishments, representing 48.8% of the total economic activity in the canton. The reliability of the instrument was tested using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, obtaining a value of 0.903, confirming internal consistency. Results: The findings reveal that innovation, adaptability, and organizational structure capabilities require improvement due to the lack of a well-defined hierarchy that limits responsiveness to competitive challenges. The implementation of the MIR matrix is proposed as a strategic management tool to improve dynamic capability indicators, enhance organizational management, and strengthen business competitiveness. The study concludes that dynamic capabilities are a key factor for organizational development and business sustainability in local contexts.
