Abstract

Los cambios poblacionales que han marcado el último siglo de la historia de la humanidad han generado una serie de cambios en el abastecimiento de alimentos y agua, que podrían generar graves enfrentamientos y disputas entre estados o particulares, para tratar de asegurar un suministro permanente de estos recursos. Pese al esfuerzo de los estados y de las instituciones al interior de los mismos, la situación en los países en vía de desarrollo se agrava cada día más, y, por el contrario, ahonda la brecha entre ricos y pobres, debido a la compra de tierras por parte de grandes capitales, lo cual genera centros de poder y monopolios alternativos al interior del Estado.
