Paradojas de la preservación: Sierra de la Macarena y conflicto armado en Colombia. Análisis de riesgo ambiental en el posconflicto

Abstract

La importancia histórica de la distribución de los recursos naturales en Colombia recae sobre el hecho de que fue esta la causa que desató el conflicto armado; los extensos terrenos, ricos en biodiversidad, fueron lugares propicios para el desarrollo de la insurgencia, gracias al abandono estatal. Precisamente, algunos de los frentes más importantes de las FARC se ubicaron en el Parque Natural Nacional Sierra de la Macarena, quienes, ejerciendo control socioeconómico ilegítimo en la región, lograron de forma paradójica proteger y preservar, directa o indirectamente -con normativa ambiental o con fenómenos como el desplazamiento forzado- el entorno de la reserva. Actualmente, debido a la firma del acuerdo de paz en el 2016 con este grupo armado ilegal, surge la preocupación por las situaciones de riesgo que ponen en peligro la flora y fauna en la región, al no contar con instituciones ambientales lo suficientemente fortalecidas, que garanticen el freno a la deforestación y que, además, prioricen el desarrollo sostenible
