Vigías para la democracia en Cartagena de Indias-Colombia: Reivindicación de derechos, ciudadanías y esferas públicas

Abstract

El siguiente artículo propone estudiar la relación entre comunicación y democracia a través de una experiencia concreta y real como es el proyecto juvenil Vigías de la Democracia implementado, entre otras, en la ciudad de Cartagena-Colombia. El documento asume al joven vigía como ciudadano político, es decir, como un cooperador social, racional, crítico, argumentativo, deliberante y por ende intersubjetivo. En relación con estos postulados, se establece, a partir de procesos de participación, el desarrollo de la democracia a través de medios de comunicación ciudadanos, como una necesidad de los contextos locales latinoamericanos.
