Una reflexión crítica en torno a la valoración económica de los recursos naturales y el medio ambiente

Abstract

El presente paper corresponde a un proceso juicioso de reflexión basado en la experiencia y el conoci-miento teórico del autor sobre el tema, recorrido que ha permitido develar bajo el manto del análisis crítico las inconsistencias del marco conceptual económico ortodoxo para el abordaje del valor de la naturaleza. El razonamiento parte de la revisión de las bases teóricas de la llamada economía ambiental y las meto-dologías de valoración de los recursos naturales desarrolladas en el marco de dicha rama de la economía, evidenciando la incompatibilidad entre este referente cognoscitivo y las leyes que gobiernan el equilibrio y funcionamiento ecosistémico, para finalmente plantear alternativas conceptuales más acertadas como base para futuros procesos de valoración de los recursos naturales y el medio ambiente.
