Los cambios del periodismo frente a las nuevas tecnologías en dos ciudades principales del caribe colombiano

Abstract

Esta investigación descriptiva analiza las percepciones de periodistas del caribe colombiano sobre los po-sibles cambios percibidos en el periodismo local a partir de la inserción de las nuevas tecnologías en las labores que desarrollan en Montería y Cartagena de Indias (Colombia). Dentro de los hallazgos se resaltan que los periodistas de estas ciudades perciben grandes beneficios que les ha brindado las TIC en términos de acceso a fuentes de información, facilitación de labores de redacción y edición de contenidos; sin embargo resaltan algunos usos tecnológicos inapropiados que están afectando la calidad periodística en algunas empresas informativas: la pérdida del contacto con la realidad y las fuentes, la reducción de la profesión a retransmisión de información o noticia, y el ejercicio de la práctica periodística desde competencias tecnológicas que dejan de lado las competencias profesionales y éticas.
