Memoria de trabajo y aprendizaje: Implicaciones para la educación

Abstract

Debido a sus funciones de almacenamiento y manipulación de la información en el corto plazo, la Memoria de Trabajo es uno de los componentes cognitivos más relacionados con el aprendizaje. El objetivo de esta revisión bibliográfica es presentar la evidencia más reciente de dicha relación y sus posibles implicaciones para la educación. Para entender a fondo esta asociación, se explican en detalle los diversos hallazgos sobre la conexión entre la Memoria de Trabajo y el desempeno académico. En adición, se muestra la evidencia del aumento de la capacidad de la Memoria de Trabajo de distintos estudios a través de diferentes metodologías de entrenamiento. Finalmente se discuten las posibles implicaciones prácticas en educación.
