Ocupacoes e renda das mulheres e homens no rural do estado do Paraná, Brasil: uma perspectiva de genero1

Abstract

Este trabalho examina as formas de ocupacoes e fontes de renda de mulheres e homens das famílias dasáreas rurais do estado do Paraná, Brasil, no período de 2001 a 2008, privilegiando a abordagem de genero.As estimativas mostraram que o número das famílias no período analisado ficou estabilizado, revertendo aqueda que ocorreu na década de 1990. Verificou-se a intensa reducao das ocupacoes agrícolas e o preocupanteprocesso de proletarizacao, sendo que ambos os fenomenos atingem mais intensamente as mulheres. Aocupacao nao agrícola foi um importante lócus para as mulheres gerarem renda independentemente doespaco masculino. A renda dos homens oriunda das ocupacoes agrícolas ainda é a maior responsável pelaformacao da renda familiar e as transferencias sociais sao as maiores fonte de renda das mulheres.
