Abstract
****** The production systems can be represented and analyzed as a value chain that shows the activities made to achieve the generation of products or services offered to end customers. But in doing so, it is very common to find activities that do not really add value to these products or services which implies a negative impact on system productivity. These activities can be classified as waste according to the philosophy of Lean Manufacturing, which in turn provides us with tools that allow eliminating this waste and thereby improving the flow and increasing the productivity of these production systems. In this paper, which is an applied research result, it is shown the analysis and improvement of the value chain of a production line of office chairs. Firstly, waste are identified in the value chain, then is determining the most appropriate lean tools for removal and finally a cost-benefit analysis is made for implementing the proposed tools.
