Abstract

Intentar referirse al término calidad es no encontrar una definición concreta y hasta llegar a una controversia en el intento. Se cree que todos saben a qué se refiere pero, probablemente, no es así, pues es un término usado continuamente y que ha cobrado fuerza a largo de la historia. Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar una revisión y análisis de la percepción de la calidad y su evolución en el tiempo, y los principales enfoques que se le han atribuido. Para ello, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica a través de artículos y libros de reconocidos autores sobre este tema. Se concluye sobre la importancia de abordar estos temas en la comunidad investigativa, con el fin de obtener información acerca del estado actual del conocimiento con respecto a temas de interés. ****** Making reference to the term quality means not finding a specific definition and even rising to controversy in the attempt. It is believed that everyone knows what quality refers to but probably not, given it is a term used continuously and which has gained strength throughout history. This article aims to present a review and analysis of perception on quality and its evolution over time, and the main approaches that have been attributed to the term. To do this, it was conducted a literature review of articles and books on this subject written by renowned authors. It is concluded on the importance of addressing these topics inside the research community in order to obtain information related to current knowledge on issues of common interest.
