Abstract

Este artículo de reflexión analiza cómo el proceso de globalización económica, ha facilitado la apertura de mercados,la eliminación de barreras al comercio internacional, la obtención de preferencias arancelarias; en definitiva,el incremento en el intercambio de mercancías a través de las importaciones y exportaciones. A partir del análisisse presenta las oportunidades de negocios de Colombia en la región del Caribe, las principales característicascon los países miembros de la Comunidad del Caribe (CARICOM) y su tendencia hacia los territorios denominadosextranjeros, así como los beneficios que presenta la región del Caribe para Colombia, lo que constituye unreto si queremos llegar a una zona que es privilegiada y beneficiada por países de la Unión Europea.
