El Río Grande de la Magdalena: una alternativa turística para el desarrollo de Girardot, Cundinamarca

Abstract

El presente documento tiene como objetivo identificar las posibilidades de desarrollo del turismo como opción para la ciudad de Girardot, Cundinamarca. Para ello se inicia el análisis con el enfoque de la investigación acción-participativa (IAP), que parte de las potencialidades que brinda el río como ejes estructurantes en las relaciones sociales y económicas de la ciudad y la región. Se tienen en cuenta los acontecimientos históricos que han transcurrido en la ciudad y la evolución que esta ha obtenido como consecuencia de los continuos desplazamientos que realizan los ciudadanos desde Bogotá los fines de semana y, en menor intensidad, entre semana, con el fin de tener recreación y esparcimiento. Se tiene como referente su ubicación estratégica en la región y las condiciones climáticas que la hacen muy atractiva a las exigencias de los turistas.
