Abstract

Con el fin de avanzar en la comprensión del origende las crisis económicas que caracterizan el funcionamientode la economía capitalista, el presente artículoestudia la llamada crisis de la deuda" en AméricaLatina durante los anos ochenta, la cual condujoa la llamada "década perdida" en el desarrollo de laregión. Como conclusión, el artículo plantea la necesidadde ir más allá de las interpretaciones subjetivistasque ponen el peso explicativo en la avaricia debanqueros irresponsables, en la creatividad danina de la ingeniería financiera o en la miopía de gobiernosy deudores privados impróvidos, y se centra enlas características estructurales del modelo de inserciónde América Latina en la economía global."
