Flexibilización laboral: Un análisis de sus efectos sociales para el caso colombiano

Abstract

En este documento se discuten los posibles efectos que se podrían generar en la pobreza y ladistribución del ingreso, a partir de una flexibilización de las normas laborales en Colombia.Con base en un análisis de equilibrio parcial para el mercado de trabajo urbano colombiano,se senala que reducciones sucesivas del salario real pueden bajar la ta sa de desempleo pero, acambio de aumentos en la pobreza y la desigualdad en la distribución del ingreso. Se concluyeque el número de empleos que se podrían llegar a generar mediante la reforma laboral de2002 no reducirá de forma sustancial la tasa de desempleo; al contrario de lo que sostienen lasproyecciones oficiales, la reforma tiene el potencial de prolongar la fase recesiva del cicloeconómico y deteriorar los indicadores urbanos de pobreza y desigualdad.
