Abstract

“Este artículo constituye el núcleo de una investigación empírica más amplia sobre desigualdad del ingreso en 1988, cuyos principales resultados en términos de un análisis histórico comparativo se publicaron en el primer número de Coyuntura Social'. El objetivo aquí es el de hacer una descripción y análisis de los determinantes de la distribución del ingreso en Colombia en 1988, con base en dos encuestas realizadas por el DANE en el sector rural y urbano, respectivamente. Tras comentar brevemente la metodología usada en su construcción, se presentarán primero indicadores agregados de des igualdad para Colombia en 1988; posteriormente, se describirán algunos datos indicativos de la estructura social de esta desigualdad, haciendo un análisis de los determinantes empíricos de la estructura de ingresos.”
