Abstract

Después de la crisis que se presentó en la segunda mitad de la década de los noventa, América Latina no ha mostrado signos claros de recuperación y por el contrario la mayoría de países registran, nuevamente, bajos o negativos niveles de crecimiento. Si bien la crisis asiática en 1997 golpeó de manera importante sólo a un grupo de países, la crisis actual ha sido casi generalizada con algunas diferencias en el nivel de profundidad.
