Movilidad social: realidad, opinio?n y consecuencias

Abstract

Durante el primer semestre del an?o 2005, una importante revista de circulacio?n nacional publico? un arti?culo sobre la pro?xima generacio?n de colombianos llamada a suceder a quienes hoy ostentan poder, dinero y reconocimiento social. El arti?culo mencionaba cuarenta personas menores de cuarenta an?os que, segu?n los editorialistas de la revista, estaban llamadas a ocupar posiciones de privilegio y visibilidad en el sector pu?blico y la empresa privada, asi? como en las artes y las ciencias. Ma?s que examinar los atributos de los seleccionados o especular sobre los sesgos de los seleccionadores, resulta ilustrativo reparar en las reacciones de los lectores ante la publicacio?n del arti?culo.
