Tasa de cambio: evolución, determinantes e impacto

Abstract

En este documento se presenta un breve resumen de un conjunto de trabajos para Colombia realiza- dos recientemente por el autor, todos ellos relacionados con la tasa de cambio (Echavarría, 2005). Se describe inicialmente su evolución en el largo plazo, se defiende luego el régimen actual de flotación administrada, se consideran los factores determinantes del nivel de la tasa de cambio real y de los desalineamientos con respecto al "equilibrio", y finalmente se evalúa el impacto de la devaluación sobre las exportaciones y sobre el conjunto de la economía.
