Las ESTRUCTURAS productivas y las disparidades economicas departamentales en Colombia, 1990-2005 (pt II)

Abstract

Este estudio analiza el desarrollo regional en Colombia, entre 1990 y 2005. La caracterizacion de la estructura productiva se fundamento en la tecnica Shift-Share. Para el analisis de las disparidades economicas territoriales, se examino empiricamente la presencia y magnitud de convergencia economica departamental, y se complemento con una revision de la evolucion de varios indices de desigualdad. Los resultados del modelo no rechazan la hipotesis de convergencia del PIB per capita, aunque la velocidad de convergencia es bastante lenta y se estimo en un 1.7% promedio anual en el periodo de estudio. Sin embargo, pese a no haber evidencia para rechazar la hipotesis de convergencia, las medidas de disparidad regional estaticas estimadas, evidencian que en general estan aumentando las disparidades economicas entre los departamentos y que finalmente estos no estan convergiendo.
