Las ESTRUCTURAS productivas y las disparidades economicas departamentales en Colombia, 1990-2005

Abstract

Este estudio analiza el desarrollo regional en Colombia, entre 1990 y 2005. La caracterización de la estructura productiva se fundamentó en la técnica Shift-Share. Para el análisis de las disparidades económicas territoriales, se examinó empíricamente la presencia y magnitud de convergencia económica departamental, y se complementó con una revisión de la evolución de varios índices de desigualdad.Los resultados del modelo no rechazan la hipótesis de convergencia del pib per cápita, aunque la velocidad de convergencia es bastante lenta y se estimó en un 1.7% promedio anual en el periodo de estudio. Sin embargo, pese a no haber evidencia para rechazar la hipótesis de convergencia, las medidas de disparidad regional estáticas estimadas, evidencian que en general están aumentando las disparidades económicas entre los departamentos y que finalmente éstos no están convergiendo.
