Evolución de la estructura de clases sociales en Colombia, 1938-2010. ¿Han crecido las clases medias?

Abstract

El artículo describe la forma como ha evolucionado la estructura de clases sociales de los trabajadores en Colombia entre 1938 y 2010 y senala la correspondencia entre ese proceso y los regímenes de acumulación que ha tenido el país en este transcurso. Para ello recurre a una clasificación propia de clases sociales que es aplicada a distintas fuentes estadísticas que cubren este periodo. Se concluye que, en una perspectiva de largo plazo, después de un importante aumento de las clases medias durante el régimen de sustitución de importaciones, no se ha presentado un aumento continuo de esas clases desde la década de 1990.
