Análisis de correlación de la violencia y la criminalidad en el noreste de México entre 2008 y 2014

Abstract

En este artículo se analizan algunas características socioeconómicas y territoriales de los estados mexicanos de Tamaulipas, Nuevo León y Coahuila que pueden estar asociadas con la incidencia delictiva y violencia generada entre 2008 y 2014. Con estadísticas generadas por el Consejo Nacional de Evaluación de la Política de Desarrollo Social (Coneval) y el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI), se realizó un análisis de correlación que nos permitiera inferir sobre la relación entre deterioro social y criminalidad. Los principales resultados indican que en el caso de Nuevo León y Coahuila el mayor número de incidentes delictivos están asociados al retraso educativo, al escaso acceso a la seguridad social y a las condiciones de la vivienda; en Tamaulipas no se encontró evidencia de correlación significativa.
