Determinantes por cuantiles de la duración del desempleo en Cali y su área metropolitana en el periodo 2012-2014

Abstract

El objetivo principal es estimar los determinantes de la duración del desempleo de Cali (Colombia) y su Área Metropolitana (AM) durante el periodo 2012-2014 teniendo en cuenta duraciones de 8, 16 y 48 semanas. Se utiliza la técnica de regresiones cuantílicas corrigiendo el sesgo de selección. Los resultados para Cali AM coinciden con recientes estimaciones para Colombia respecto al papel jugado por la educación, la edad, la jefatura de hogar, la presencia de hijos menores de 6 anos en el hogar, las actividades no remuneradas y el rol de las mujeres comprometidas. Los resultados también sugieren que los determinantes inciden de manera diferente para individuos que duran 8, 16 y 48 semanas desempleados.
