Eficiencia bancaria en Argentina. Comportamiento de los bancos entre 2005 y 2013

Abstract

El objetivo del trabajo es analizar la evolución de la eficiencia de ciertas entidades bancarias argentinas durante el período comprendido entre los anos 2005 y 2013. En tal sentido, se buscará distinguir los factores que contribuyen a explicar tal desempeno. A tal efecto, se combinará el análisis envolvente de datos (DEA) con el índice de productividad de Malmquist (IPM). Esto permite medir las variaciones en la productividad a lo largo del tiempo y, al mismo tiempo, descomponer sus causas. Los resultados alcanzados muestran una mejora en la productividad total y en la eficiencia técnica para un grupo importante de las entidades analizadas.
