La función de consumo: una revisión de la literatura reciente

Abstract

Este trabajo hace una revisión exhaustiva de la literatura sobre la función consumo desarrollada durante la década del ochenta y principios de los años noventa. El artículo explica las diferentes pruebas que se han llevado a cabo de la Teoría del ciclo de vida-ingreso permanente bajo expectativas racionales. Así mismo, expone los diferentes argumentos que se han dado para intentar rescatar la teoría o para rechazar su validez. Aunque el trabajo no hace referencia a Colombia, en él está la materia prima para un sinnúmero de futuras investigaciones que quieran aplicar al caso colombiano los diversos estudios que se han realizado a nivel internacional.
