Las companías de financiamiento comercial: análisis de su desempeno financiero y su relación con el consumo de bienes semidurables

Abstract

El surgimiento de las companías de financiamiento comercial (CFC), en 1979, estuvo ligado a dos hechos principalmente: a) Las regulaciones impuestas a los bancos comerciales desde mediados de los anos setenta, que dieron como resultado un drástico recorte de los créditos comerciales de corto plazo y b) La creciente demanda de financiación para el consumo de bienes semidurables en los hogares (electrodomésticos, automóviles, etc.)El presente trabajo analiza la relación entre esta parte del mercado financiero, dedicada a créditos de corto plazo (un ano o menos), y el sector real de la economía. Este vínculo permite entender la necesidad de especializar a las CFC en el crédito al consumo, como una forma de crearle una demanda más sostenida a la industria nacional.
