Abstract

La historia suele ser irónica. paradojal y hasta juguetona con el destino de los hombres y de sus ideas. En 1883 se produjo uno de esos cruces que bien valdría resaltar para iniciar estas notas. Aconteció en Inglaterra.En el cementerio de Highgate era enterrado sin pompa y en una tumba por completo anodina. muerto a la edad de 65 anos. el autor de El Capital el doctor Carlos Marx, renano de nacimiento, después de una agitadisima y no pocas veces paupérrima, vida material. Y en el elegante número seis de Harvey Road. en la académica ciudad deCambridge. nacia un nuevo miembro de la familia de John Neville Keynes. El hijo de ese próspero académico victoriano recibiría el nombre de John Maynard. en honor del abuelo. El abuelo habia sido un acomodado hombre de letras que habia legado a John Neville una discreta fortuna material. John Maynard nació en casa de góticovictoriano. bien provista de "servicio doméstico".
