Abstract

Este ensayo describe el papel de los bienes básicos y la mercancía patrón en el esquema de precios de producción propuesto por Piero Sraffa. Su tema central son los problemas relacionados con la interpretación de Homero Cuevas: la importancia de los bienes básicos y de los bienes de lujo en la determinación de los precios y la distribución del excedente; la composición y el papel de la mercancía patrón; las limitaciones de la distinción entre los dos tipos de bienes y del concepto de mercancía patrón y la supuesta imposibilidad de construir la mercancía patrón.
