Tasa de preferencia intertemporal, equilibrio y estabilidad en los modelos de crecimiento neoclásicos

Abstract

Este artículo analiza la consistencia intertemporal de las preferencias y la homogeneidad de la tasa de preferencia intertemporal en los modelos de ciclo real. El primer supuesto implica que las preferencias no cambian a lo largo del tiempo; el segundo, que las preferencias de las personas son iguales, independientemente de su nivel de ingreso. Cuando estos supuestos se modifican ligeramente para que el modelo sea más realista, pero deja de ser convergente, estable y es muy sensible a las condiciones iniciales. Las modificaciones consisten en diferenciar el consumo de los ricos y de los pobres, y suponer que la tasa de preferencia intertemporal es endógena.
