Abstract

Relata como la economía cafetera colombiana había sufrido sus primeras dificultades serias a comienzos del siglo, cuando se presento una sobreproducción mundial de café, con las voluminosas cosechas del Brasil; esa crisis estuvo acompanada internamente por las perturbaciones sociales y políticas que produjo la guerra de los Mil Días. Una de las acciones sugeridas y que fue constituida y denominada la primera plataforma cafetera, por la cual trabajaron los dirigentes cafeteros hasta terminada la Segunda Guerra Mundial, fue la creación de La Federación de Cafeteros fundada en 1927, logrando de esta manera consolidar el gremio y darle una gran preponderancia económica y política.
