La política fiscal del estado colonial y el monopolio de la industria del aguardiente en la nueva granada durante el siglo XVIII

Abstract

La historia de la renta y estanco del aguardiente de cana en la nueva granada se halla ligada no sólo a los procesos de expansión agrícola sino al consumo de bebidas embriagantes. El alto consumo de chicha de maíz y aguardiente, llevaron a crear una política fiscal de control tanto del consumo de la bebida como de los cultivos de la cana de azúcar y maíz. La renta de aguardiente por ser una de las más representativas del ejercicio de una política económica disenada para las colonias, no solo esta renta, si no de otras que fueron comunes en la sociedad colonial. Las reformas fiscales y administrativas sobre el control del estanco incidieron profundamente en los comportamientos de la curva de ingresos de la renta del aguardiente.
