Abstract

In conducting this study my intention was to provide a general presentation on valuing and respecting the rights of children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS in Romania. My research goal was to assess the implementation and enhancement of the rights of HIV positive Romanian children and youth. The themes covered are: conceptual delimitations on the virus infection, the history of HIV/AIDS, statistics including general information on HIV/AIDS in Romania, the legislation regarding the rights of people affected by HIV. I focused on the violation of these rights and on measures taken against discrimination.
