    În cercetarea noastră am constatat faptul că problematica riscurilor este tratată de către mai mulți autori, iar aceștia au diverse opinii despre conceptele de control, analiză, gestiune și management. Prin acest articol, dorim să realizăm o delimitare cât mai clară privind acești patru termeni, pentru a se evita confuziile viitoare din cadrul studierii riscului sau preocupării față de acesta în cazul companiilor. Noi considerăm faptul că managementul riscului include controlul, gestionarea și analiza acestuia, acestea fiind doar câteva etape ale acestuia, iar fiecare la rândul său având diverse etape, metodologii și instrumente.
