Predictores del ajuste psicosocial en divorciados de Monterrey, México: un análisis de género

Abstract

Las tasas de divorcio han crecido en México sostenidamente en las últimas décadas. Sin embargo, la investigación respectiva es escasa, por lo que se conoce poco la experiencia del divorcio en este país. Por ello, el objetivo de este estudio es explorar los factores que predicen el ajuste psicosocial en una muestra de adultos divorciados y en proceso de divorcio en Monterrey, México. Específicamente, se pretende conocer las diferencias de género en las variables que facilitan la adaptación a la vida post divorcio. Los resultados muestran que los principales factores predictores del bienestar de los hombres divorciados son el tiempo de cohabitación con la ex esposa y el tener una pareja actualmente. En las mujeres la variable que impactó más respuestas de ajuste fue el empleo. Estos resultados apuntan a que el bienestar en la vida después del divorcio se nutre de diferentes factores en los hombres y en las mujeres.
