La grande distribution, VRP du made in France... sous marque de distributeur

Abstract

La récente crise agricole a placé la grande distribution au coeur des débats sur la répartition de la valeur ajoutée dans les filières de produits alimentaires. Si elles font l’objet de vives critiques sur le plan national, les enseignes de grande distribution peuvent cependant avoir un effet moteur, à l’international, pour les entreprises agroalimentaires de leur pays d’origine. C’est ce que montre un programme de recherche mené au CEPII consacré à l’analyse des impacts de l’internationalisation de la grande distribution sur le commerce. Les travaux montrent que l’internationalisation croissante de la grande distribution favorise les exportations alimentaires des pays d’origine des enseignes. C’est tout particulièrement le cas pour les firmes déjà certifiées par les enseignes de grande distribution pour fournir le marché français. Il apparaît ainsi que fournir la grande distribution dans son pays permet de bénéficier d’externalités positives pour exporter vers les pays où sont implantées des enseignes françaises.
