Abstract

Emblématique de la nouvelle géographie économique mondiale, la place que les produits, capitaux et travailleurs chinois occupent aujourd'hui en Afrique suscite de nombreuses réactions. Les réserves en devises considérables de la Chine font craindre, notamment chez les partenaires "traditionnels" de l'Afrique, sa mainmise sur les ressources du continent. Faute de données précises et cohérentes, des informations parcellaires alimentent les discours les plus alarmistes. De quels éléments dispose-t-on pour apprécier l'ampleur de la présence chinoise en Afrique et pour qualifier l'influence que cette présence a sur le développement africain ?
