L’heterogeneite de la relation epargne-investissement : un indicateur de la dynamique d’integration economique ? Une application au cas europeen

Abstract

Nous tentons d’analyser si l’heterogeneite individuelle de la relation epargne-investissement constatee dans plusieurs etudes empiriques pourrait etre liee a la dynamique d’integration economique (i.e. a la transformation des structures productives nationales que peut engendrer un fort degre d’integration economique). Pour cela, nous selectionnons des groupes de pays selon un critere institutionnel (i.e. un groupe « OCDE », un groupe « zone euro » et un groupe des « pays signataires du traite de Rome »), en testant l’hypothese que chaque regroupement s’accompagne d’un degre d’heterogeneite entre les pays plus ou moins specifique et nous apprecions dans quelle mesure cette particularite s’accompagne de la convergence des PIB par tete. Nous montrons que, dans une certaine mesure, le degre d’heterogeneite qui prevaut dans la relation epargne-investissement de chaque echantillon pourrait bien s’expliquer par la dynamique d’integration economique qui le caracterise.
