Kommt der Tankrabatt an den Zapfsäulen an? Ergebnisse des ifo Tankrabatt-Trackers

Abstract

Um den Anstieg der Kraftstoffpreise infolge des Irankriegs einzudämmen, hat die Bundesregierung zum 1. Mai 2026 die Energiesteuer gesenkt. Unsere Auswertungen dieses Tankrabatts zeigen, dass er in den ersten Maiwochen zwar größ- tenteils, aber nicht vollständig an die Verbraucher*innen weitergegeben wurde. Mittlerweile kommt der Tankrabatt vollständig an den Zapfsäulen an. Im Schnitt wurden im Mai pro Liter Super E5 16 Cent, pro Liter Super E10 15 Cent und pro Liter Diesel 12 Cent weitergegeben. Eine vollständige Weitergabe durch die Mineralölkonzerne wäre bei einer Preisreduzierung um ca. 17 Cent pro Liter erreicht. Losgelöst von der Höhe der Weitergabe stellt sich allerdings die Frage nach der Zielgenauigkeit der Maßnahme, da diese die Autofahrer*innen unabhängig von ihrer Kaufkraft entlastet.
