Zuwanderung als Dynamikindikator und als Demografiekorrektiv. Die positive Rolle internationaler Arbeitskräfte für Arbeitsmarkt und Bevölkerungs-entwicklung in Thüringen

Abstract

Der Freistaat Thüringen verzeichnet seit der Wiedervereinigung kontinuierliche Einwohnerverluste. Noch stärker als die Zahl der Einwohner*innen sinkt seit Jahren die Zahl potenzieller Erwerbstätiger in der Altersgruppe der 15- bis 65-Jährigen. Zudem altern die Bevölkerung und das Erwerbspersonenpotenzial stark. Gleichzeitig führen die wirtschaftliche Wiederbelebung und die wachsende Zahl an Renteneintritten zu einem hohen Arbeitskräftebedarf in praktisch allen Branchen. Erwerbstätige aus dem Ausland tragen erheblich zur Verringerung des Arbeitskräftemangels bei. Nicht nur der Arbeitsmarkt profitiert von der Zuwanderung, auch die demografische Verfassung verbessert sich.
