Rentenreformen zur Sicherung der Finanzierbarkeit sind unumgänglich

Abstract

Die deutsche gesetzliche Rentenversicherung steht vor großen Herausforderungen. Der demografische Wandel und die im Zeitverlauf kontinuierlich wachsenden Rentenausgaben machen eine Rentenreform unumgänglich. Selbst sehr günstige demografische Entwicklungen mildern den Reformbedarf nicht, sondern verschaffen nur ein wenig Zeit. Die im Rentenpaket II verankerten Vorschläge der ehemaligen Bundesregierung wären dabei ein Schritt in die falsche Richtung, da sie das Rentensystem nicht entlasten, sondern zu zusätzlichen Ausgaben führen, die vor allem von den jüngeren Generationen getragen werden müssen. Um die Generationengerechtigkeit aufrechtzuerhalten, muss an anderen Stellschrauben gedreht werden.
