Wo bleiben Deutschlands alte Autos?

Abstract

Pro Jahr werden in Deutschland ca. 2,5-2,7 Mill. Pkw endgültig stillgelegt. Davon wird allerdings nur ein kleiner Teil tatsächlich auch verschrottet; ein erheblicher Anteil der in Deutschland abgemeldeten Fahrzeuge wird ins Ausland exportiert. Deutschland (und Europa) nehmen zwar bei nationalen Klimaschutzanstrengungen eine Vorreiterrolle ein, das Ziel globalen Klimaschutzes im Bereich des privaten Pkw-Bestandes wird aber dadurch konterkariert, dass klimaschädliche Altfahrzeuge anderswo weiter genutzt werden.
